🪂 First HCM City Open Paragliding Tournament to Launch in Tri Ton
HCM City (VNA) – The first-ever Ho Chi Minh City Open Paragliding Tournament will take place from February 14 to 16 in Tri Ton district, An Giang province, setting a new milestone for paragliding sports in Vietnam.
The event is co-organized by the HCM City Paragliding Federation and the People’s Committee of Tri Ton District, and is expected to attract more than 50 pilots from local and international clubs, including participants from Da Nang, Di Linh, HCM City, An Giang, and the Republic of Korea.
🏔️ A Scenic Flight from Phung Hoang Mountain
All pilots will take off from Phung Hoang (Co To) Mountain, located at 614 meters above sea level. The landing zone will be the renowned Tri Ton Ox Racecourse, promising breathtaking views and exciting competition for both spectators and athletes.
🏆 Prizes and Purpose
The top three winners will receive cash rewards of:
- 🥇 10 million VND (~395 USD)
- 🥈 6 million VND
- 🥉 4 million VND
According to Lam Quang Quy, Vice Chairman of the federation, the competition aims to create a platform for pilot networking, skill development, and talent discovery ahead of the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand this December.
🎉 Opening Ceremony & Cultural Experiences
The event opens on February 14 with a spectacular paramotoring display where pilots will carry a large Vietnamese flag across the sky.
Alongside the competition, visitors will experience the culture of Tri Ton and An Giang through:

- 🎯 Folk games and cultural exhibitions
